Miles above the rest

Nitetime down at Beaufort town
beside a silent sea

Windless ship came sailing in
and gliding up to me

Pilot called, "Oh, step aboard
and leave this empty strand

sail aboard across the sea
to far and distant land

silent crossing waveless main
to where the shadows band."

"Not tonite," I echoed back,
"I've work that yet remains,

child to rear and wife to tend
and smiles before they weep."

Ritual Decalogue

Worship no other god than יהוה : Make no covenant with the inhabitants of other lands to which you go, do not intermarry with them, and destroy their places of worship.
Do not make molten idols.
Observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days in the month of Abib.
Sacrifice firstborn male animals to יהוה : The firstborn of a donkey may be redeemed; redeem firstborn sons.
Do no work or even kindle a fire on the seventh day. Anyone who does so will be put to death.
Observe the Feast of First Fruits and the Feast of Ingathering: All males are therefore to appear before יהוה three times each year.
Do not mix sacrificial blood with leavened bread.
Do not let the fat of offerings remain until the morning.
Bring the choicest first fruits of the harvest to the Temple of יהוה
Do not cook a goat in its mother's milk.
